CONSULTING SKILLS FOR HUMAN RESOURCE PEOPLE

Why consulting skills for human resource practitioners?

In recent years, the role of the human resources practitioner has evolved from what used to be a control orientation to an enabling or consultative role. This requires new knowledge and skills that can be acquired through a combination of experience, either on or off the job.

Our approach:

The Human Element can assist human resource practitioners in assessing their own knowledge and skill base and in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the role of HR Consultant with success.

Our approach is to assess the current level of knowledge and skills for individuals or groups and design a development program that exposes the HR Consultant to what is involved in HR consulting from needs assessment, through research, diagnosis, generation of management options, and eventually the management proposal stage. The methodology is then applied with an actual or prospective internal management client to give the HR practitioner practical experience in an environment conducive to learning.
